Replacement Keyfob and other items.

With the rollout of the new version, if I wanted to purchase a replacement keyfob, will the new keyfob work with the second generation system? What about the other items?


Alarm Delay Time when Sensor is Tripped

Why can't I change the the 30 second delay time on the Entry Delay, Away setting? I can edit all the other settings except this one. This is very disappointing. 30 seconds is a very long time if a thief gets into the house. Is there a way to change this so the alarm instantly goes off? This could be a game changer for me keeping this system. Please explain the logic of not having the option to change the time.

camera motion alarm has wrong time

using camera as stand alone....not monitored.

motion detection alarms indicate wrong time, below is motion detection msg recd

"Camera Detected Motion

"living rm cam" camera detected motion on 5-6-18 at 12:06 PM"

it is currently 10:06 AM MDT

can't find option in settings to set the correct time.

Wanted to control SimpliSafe mode using IFTTT. But SimpliSafe does not support it . So I made my own... Disassembled one ss3 keyfob and attached IFTTT enabled momentary switch. (sonoff 4ch pro)

In case of trigger, I think that I can hack keypad. But what I needed was action. Tested and works good. Just wanted to share quick dirty job.

Is it the Base or Keypad that receives arm/unarm signal from KeyFob?

hello.

simplisafe newbie here. (SS2 original system)

Sometimes i see that pressing the AWAY button while sitting on the driveway pulling out from the house, does not really register and the system remains unarm. There is no easy way to check other than going to the app and check the timeline or the dashboard if you have interactive mode.

So i am thinking of moving the devices closer, but i would like to know if i should be moving the Keypad or the Base closer?

Simplicam light blinking yellow... again, second camera... same problem, do these even work?

I ordered a Simplicam six months ago, and could never get it to work, it was always ending in a state of a blinking yellow light. After consulting the forums and calling support, and working through the uninstall/reinstall procedure on the camera, it was always the same, blinking yellow light (which means I'm sync'd with WiFi but the camera isn't getting to the internet. Everything else is my house gets to the internet fine.

Simplicam / Network / Lag Time

I have previously posted to this forum regarding the 20 seconds plus lag time I was experiencing with my Simplicam using a Samsung Galaxy 7 2016 cell phone with Virgin Wireless / Boost Mobile.

Today I used a Samsung Galaxy 7 2017 cell phone with AT&T / T Mobile as the carrier(s) and the average lag time was 7 seconds. So the carrier you use does make a difference regarding lag time using the Simplcam. I am satisfied with the performance of the Simplicam using AT&T T Mobile as my carrier.


Where is the Video Doorbell? Any new info on it’s release?

So I moved to a new house and got my Simplisafe system delivered to me and installed, I also need a wireless doorbell as my new house lacks a wired doorbell. Is there any new info or details on the upcoming Simplisafe doorbell? I know chad said Q2 of 2018 in the YouTube video but do we know anything other than that or any specifics on how it the doorbell will function? Battery life?

I don’t want to get a Ring doorbell but I feel tempted to do so as I don’t see any info on the Simplisafe doorbell anywhere

Multiple cameras, connection issues with one

I purchased 2 cameras for my system a few weeks back. Camera 1 connected to my wifi and did its update. Works great. I went through the process for camera 2, ended up always going to red solid or blinking. It would not do the reset with the top button either. Got with SimpliSafe support and they sent me a new camera.

Can I buy a new system and move my existing one to another property (rental) ?

I am happy with my existing system - about 2 years old - but my home is modern in style and the new system, would not stand out so much. My current one is monitored and I have two SS cameras.

If I purchase the new system I understand that the cameras will be transferrable to the new system, but nothing else.

Can I take my listing system, and install it in a rental property and offer to my tenant to use or is this some violation of my TOS etc?

I had my first alarm and police response. Kudos to SimpliSafe! Fortunately, it was a false alarm. Lesson learned from this: don’t rely on the tape alone. Use the screws to attach sensors. My door sensor fell off.

Insatallation in Vacant House

I just purchased a Simplisafe system to protect a vacant house I own. I haven't setup the system yet or activated monitoring yet. My question is, would it be easier to do the setup and activation at another location where i can use a computer and Wifi and then move it to the vacant house? Is there any reason why I would have to do everything at the physical location where the alarm will be used? Thanks

Unable to Load Video (Live or Recorded)

Logged into my account using a browser in the Timeline & Cameras page I cannot view live or recorded video. Worked fine viewing live video before subscribing to the recording plan. Now I see the recorded video logs but cannot view them or the live video feed. Gives me "Unable to Load Video - Retry | Troubleshoot" error when selecting to view a recorded view record or the Live feed.

Tested unsuccessfully using Google Chrome Version 66.0.3359.139 and Firefox 52.7.3.

Trouble Logging in using Firefox or Explorer - NO Dashboard page

In either browser, after going to the Simplisafe home page and clicking on the login tab and then logging in at the next page - the subsequent page is supposed to be the dashboard and all I get is a white, blank page with nothing else.

HOWEVER, if I use Chrome, I can login and get to the dashboard as normal.

I am using Malwarebytes , MS Defender, and also Spybot S&D for virus control etc.

Cellular connection issue resolved?

It APPEARS full functionality is available from the android app to a SS3 base station on cellular connection.

Test scenario: unplugged network cable to modem, entered test mode on keypad, received text, program push notification and call from COPS that test signal received. Attempted to arm alarm and got one timeout. Exited app and restarted it. Able to set Home, Off, Away, and Off from app. Able to pull two screens for status. It was slower than when base is on wifi, but not too long.

Let's see if the SS servers crash as everyone tries the cellular connection test...

Updating pieces

I've been using Simplisafe for a few years, but have always had trouble with the base model. Seems like the base works if it is within a few feet of the pin pad, but not much farther. So, two questions.

1. Will getting a new base model fix that problem?
2. Will the new base model work with my older pieces?

Smoke Detector

If a smoke detector is triggered due to overly aggressive cooking (i.e. smoke), how do I turn it off? My wife can't get up on a ladder to remove the battery.

I recently purchased and installed SS3 and have one camera in my main living area. I know the camera is motion detected but is there a way to turn it off when the alarm is off and I am home? Every time we walk by, the camera goes on and I get a notification n. I have tried to click the gear icon in the app and go to privacy settings, but I only have an option to shop systems. I don’t have any other options. I have purchased the camera recording service, but haven’t activated the alarm yet. Is that the reason why I can’t access this option? Thanks in advance for your help!

We received our system yesterday and installed it. We have a bunch of motion sensors, which I figured would be better than door and window sensors. Now having read the forum, I am thinking it might have been a terrible idea.
