My city asks for about $35/yr. for a permit, calling it a 'false alarm prevention program' or something. With SimpliSafe, local authorities aren't contacted until SimpliSafe's dispatch center confirms that there is indeed an emergency, so there *aren't* any false alarms (unless they made an error), am I right? If so, technology has just made this city's program obsolete, so I'm not paying it. Luckily, I live in the free world (Texas) where local government isn't overbearing about it and I'm not getting sent daily reminders.
