Adding an extra magnet to window so window can be open a few inches during summer.

I want to add an extra magnet on my bedroom window so that i can have the window open a few inches during the summer and still have it armed.
How many inches away do the magnets need to be from each other so there is no interference or so that the sensor does not sense the other one mistakenly?
