simply safe camera and area

hello. i picked up a camera to use to remote monitor something i do at work. so far it works great! when the office is dark the IR light kicks in and i get a nice black and white image on my phone app! with sound!

my questions are:

1. i set up the camera twice, the first time it was a failed setup and shows now that i have two areas: area A and area B. B is the second time i went through the initial setup and even named my camera and it works great! my question is, how can i delete area A as i will never use this going forward

There has been some talk about the SS search function missing from the SS forum. I have a way that you can create a shortcut of the SS search website on your PC desktop for quick access to the the SS support search site. I have also created a desktop icon for the SS forum.

STEP 1 Open the SS search website by typing in the following URL https://simplisafe.com/search You could also just cut-n-paste the URL.

Entry sensor not responding

I’ve added an entry sensor to my system, but it is not responding. I’ve changed the battery, and tried to re-instal the sensor (the keypad said it was already installed). How can I get this sensor to work?

Keychain Easy Setup Wizard not working

Setup Wizard file on keychain remote became erased. Tried repeatedly to have customer support reload file through base station with no success. Customer support sent replacement keychain remote but Wizard did not startup on laptop with Windows 10 and Chrome browser. Spent multiple days and hours on phone with support person trying numerous workarounds - switching to Internet Explorer, disabling firewall, etc., etc., and consults off line with colleagues and supervisors. Nothing worked.

keyfob range?

Looking to add a keyfob to my SS3 system to be able to disarm when entering the basement door. The keypad is located on the main level by the front door and am wondering if it will work. Does the keyfob communicate with the keypad or the base station?

How should multiple users in home be setup? Is the idea that everyone uses the same single account, or should I create multiple user accounts for a single dwelling? How should this work with the mobile app?

Power Outage Issue

My base station alerted me of a power outage at my house but everything is working except for my base station. I tried to plug it into multiple working outlets and I’m getting the same error. I had to leave to catch a flight and was alerted that my station is currently on backup battery. I’m not sure if my system is faulty or what? Anyone else have this issue? I haven’t had this system one month yet.

Keypad randomly displaying Home

For approximately 4 months my keypad has been randomly displaying Home but is not set in the home mode. We have tried everything we can think of. We now have 3 keypads because Simplisafe has sent us 2 extras in order to see if 1 or 2 may, by the off chance, be defective. Some days 1, 2 or 3 keypads will display Home or maybe none. The only way to get it off is to enter pin as if turning the alarm off. We have also tried replacing the key chains, base station, batteries, moving all items around the house, syncing the system, plugging and unplugging, absolutely nothing works.

ALL Sensors "Forgotten" by SS3 After Power Outage

Power outage happened today, I left the house for about 3 hours (armed:away), and on return saw that power was restored (porch light was on).

Surprisingly, I found that I could enter the house and not trigger any sensor. Doors did nothing. Motion sensor did nothing. I then proceeded to enter my PIN at the keypad, just in case an alarm was sent, and found that it was not communicating with the base.

Can keypad, motion sensor, etc. be mounted with screws?

We have a heavy knockdown texture on our walls that is not well suited for "Command" style strips. Then tend not to stick very well to the knockdown. And when you attempt to remove them, it rips the texture clean off the wall and leaves a bare spot. Plus, living in a hot, humid climate isn't exactly the best place for the longevity of adhesive.

Are the components of SS3 able to be mounted with screws (even if they aren't provided)?

Was trying to Identify a device on my network and it said espressif as the MAC address manufacturer company.

Through research and testing that it was my SimpliSafe Controller which was connected to my Wifi via their interface.

Just for anyone trying to identify another device on their Wifi network.

SS3 keypad seems VERY prone to scratching

In the age of Gorilla Glass and sapphire, we take scratch resistance a little for granted now. But the SS3 keypad seems VERY prone to light scratching. Seems like maybe a moist lens cleaner or moistened microfiber cloth is the best bet. I tried to rub off a fingerprint smudges from the keypad screen with a dry microfiber cloth and ended up with light scratching already. So beware.

Connection Failed

When I try to connect with monitoring it asks for my Master PIN but when I enter it, I get a "Connection Failed" message. PIN works on keypad.
